Conclusion after the first two months of model drawing class.
Model drawing is a combination of the basics we learned during the first two years of drawing class (basic forms, perspectiv, the use of light and shadow, etc).
During each model drawing session I like the task to search for the right perspectiv and the correct propertions of the body. Love model drawing in general.
Most heard comments of my teacher : try to get the whole body on the paper, not to big not to small, notice the balance of the body, closer parts should be bigger, use more shadow, don't pay any attention to the face, we'll learn that later, same for hands and feet (to my frustration), only try to draw the body correctly, you get two more years to learn putting accents, you have an own style, a sort of Matissestyle (wow).
I take a holiday for a month now. I'm curious if I'll forget the basics of model drawing when I start again in December. Don't think so. I guess it will take a few lessons.
When I'm back on track I want to use new materials like conté de paris pencil, bister, acrylpaint, watercolour, etc. One of the challenges for 2008 ?
See you in December !
